Special thanks to the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society for hosting such a great event! Thank you to all the 2016 Adult Eastern Sectional Figure Skating Championships competitors! We were thrilled to welcome you to our Club and hope that your time with us was enjoyable.
The Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society is rich is figure skating history. Some interesting background regarding PSC&HS: We are the oldest figure skating club in America. Our original Clubhouse was the first masonry stone house built on the East side of the Schuylkill River in 1861 …also known as “Boathouse Row”. Since 1938, PSC&HS has called the unique building in Ardmore our “home ice”. And no … the club name “Humane Society” has nothing to do with cats and dogs! Club members were charged with rescuing “humans” who had the misfortune of falling through the ice on the local rivers and ponds!
